BD is Alan Hawkins and one of the gifts that God has given me is that Alan is also my friend.

He has contributed his wisdom, his intellect, his humor, and his heart here for a long time.

God has gifted him with large amounts of all the above.

He has challenged us, lifted us, scrapped with us, and loved us.

He is one of our treasures and we celebrate this day and pray for many more to follow.

God bless you my friend.

  25. WOW…thanks

  26. still your birthday PDT, so fully enjoy the next sixty-three minutes of birthday bliss. You’re a treasure here and we’re all enriched by your presence.

  27. Sheesh! I take a few days to travel to California to baptize my kids in the ocean, and discover that the PP is closing down. Must have been quite a week on and off blog!

I’ve made so many friends here in the last 6 or so years, I feel truly enriched. The challenging reads and discussions have caused me to be much less of a “fightin’ fundy” while at the same time strengthening my own beliefs and convictions.

While I do not attend a small church in Phoenix, OR, I do have a wonderful pastor named Michael Newnham.

God bless you, Michael, and all of you who have, at one time or another, found a home at Phoenix Preacher!

  28. All those hackers…all those times … failures all.

Sorry Michael… I really didn’t think the cut was that deep… find a way to keep in touch. Lots of us care about you and Trey …and the big family you made.

  29. Michael,

    Thank You!!!!

    Phil

  30. Dread. When the dust settled we always found that you challenged us to think about His power and abide in His love.

What more can be said then to say that you will have more of the same blessing upon your life.

  31. Michael. Thank you brother for exhibiting the courage of His love and demonstrating what it is to be trained in His love.

Much more can be said. But again thanks. When we pick up our cross and deny ourselves we will always find that the next steps and chapters in life will unfold in due time for our life is found when we follow Him.

Pastors foster the community that is formed around Christ.

In that you have done well my friend.

    Cheers,

  32. Good morning Phoenix Preacher Family!!! (Don’t know how many more times we’ll be able to say that.) God bless you all!

  33. Michael-

Your devotion and love have touched many lives through this endeavor, including mine.

I pray that all of the blessings that have gone on here are returned upon you a thousand-fold.

I know your transperancy has taken it’s toll, but it has also blessed & taught many.

    God Bless You!

  34. Michael,
PP has been a source of healing, gaining perspective, building skills, and above all (for me) finding my voice. Discord and in-fighting has clamor & stench to herald its presence, but fruit develops and ripens quietly, steadily, and blesses those wise enough to spot it. I would urge you to focus on the fruit, for it remains long after the clamor settles and the stench disperses. Blessings, my friend. Let’s find some time soon to share a beverage and a long conversation.

    Phil

  35. I agree with Fil…sometimes you a need a lot of manure to grow the fruit! 🙂

  36. 1st? (for the new season of PP?) 🙂 Welcome back Michael…
