starbucks-coffee-logoVenti 6 shot peppermint mocha, and a bacon egg cheese “artisan” sandwich, at Starbucks. Bliss.

Sorry this is late, I lost track of the days due to work.

Yours?

  1. Scrambled eggs, grits (with just a little sugar), Folger’s Toasted Hazelnut Coffee black, and…(drum roll) bacon!
Boring, yes, but I like it.
I usually only eat bfast on the weekends, but this is what I like.

My wife was born into a different clan of grits eaters. She thinks I am crazy to put sugar in it. She likes hers with a pat of margarine.
Of course, on tea I am the opposite of most Southerners. Can’t stand sugar in my tea.

  2. A huge belgian waffle covered with syrup, fruit, and doused with powdered sugar. Hash browns on the side with bacon and ice cold chocolate milk. But since I can’t eat that I’ll settle with a green smoothie with an orange, kale, cucumber, spinach, and some minute maid light lemonade. What have I become!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Oh E, I liked your first better!

Derek, sugar goes in tea. That is the way things are. Failure to comply results in accusations of heresy and such. Especially in the south.

  4. Trust me I know. My wife has to make separate pitchers.
    Sun brewed is the best!

  5. Derek…. we have sweet and un-sweet too.

My brekkie nirvana is: french toast, bacon and browns. Hot tea with milk and maybe some grapefruit juice.

  6. Right there with you, E. As a result I feel better, have more energy at 60 than I did at 50. Know I may not live any longer, but may be able to do for myself longer w/o having to depend on others for my care. Off of statins, no longer pre-diabetic and off other meds too which more than helps cover the cost of all those yummy veggies

Once a week I do splurge on eggs, bacon, hash browns or whatever hits my fancy. Miss New Mexico, where it would be a nice stack of enchiladas with an egg or two on top!

  7. Although my Florida-born wife is a beach girl, her “people” are from rural Georgia. If I tried to put sugar on grits, I’d get smacked at momma’s house, there is only one type of tea-sweet, and since I spent the first 12 years of my life in Maryland, I’ll always be a yankee.

    Bless their hearts….

  8. LOL…Bless their hearts

  9. 3 scrambled eggs with parmesan cheese–2 for me and one for Calice. Then I get to internet while I eat and she is in her high chair.

  10. Sausage breakfast burrito from the Frontier restaurant in Albuquerque,NM followed by one of their ginormous cinnamon rolls…followed by going back to bed to sleep it all off.

Here at home…Ham steak and eggs with an apple juice from Debbies Diner.
Coffee. from The Human Bean or Dutch Bros…Starbucks is for sissies and Californians.
    ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Cold pizza – but I don’t get it often and you can’t find it in a restaurant.

  12. The ultimate breakfast:

Growing up I had a stay at home Mom, she cooked breakfast lunch and dinner six days a week. Sunday was Dadโ€™s day to cook. My Dad would get up early and go to the local swap meet and putter around, most times he would go by himself, buy a few tools and come home to wake all us girls up. As we were waking and coming around the breakfast table he would be frying bacon and hash browns. Once we were all gathered he would have one of us set the table, one would be on toast patrol, and then he would start cracking eggs and frying them in the bacon grease.

That to me is the ultimate breakfast. Not one I have very often, but when I do it is the best breakfast ever.

  13. French Toast with the egg wash flavored with a dash of vanilla and sprinkle of nutmeg; side of eggs over medium, sausage patties, a biscuit with some sausage gravy (that’s why sausage patties ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and/or hashbrowns with sausage gravy…strong black coffee, apple juice, all family style!

  14. fil,

    I’ll be there about 9… ๐Ÿ™‚
    That sounded way too good…

  15. Green smoothie and a scrambled egg, fresh from the hen. Like J2, I sprinkle a little Parmesan on the egg.

  16. “Coffee from The Human Bean or Dutch Brosโ€ฆStarbucks is for sissies and Californians.”

    There it is….. amen…..

Since its required: My favorite breakfast:

three eggs, over medium, two biscuits, hash browns all covered with white sausage gravy and Tabasco. Four sausage links and four strips of bacon. Four cups of coffee, or, in the old days, two bottles of beer or a bloody Mary and two cups of coffee. hell ya!!

  17. Ixtlan,

I have to quit reading this thread or I’m headed to the truck stop for a heart attack on a plate…that sounded really good.
    Over easy, please.

  18. Coffee IS breakfast….. Organic French Roast made ‘pour over’ style into a pre heated beautiful mug, VERY strong and a good slosh of local organic half n half….. yum

  19. we’ll have to grab some breakfast together one of these days Michael ๐Ÿ™‚

Paigemom – most days at home, its pour over, 30 oz. double strength coffee freshly ground from Central America; black, of course….. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  20. Breakfast burrito. Nuff said

  21. Dang. Now I’m jonesing for some biscuits and gravy. Served with chicken fried steak, hashbrowns and eggs. Too many years of that is why I’m drinking smoothies now, LOL!

  22. A ham and cheese omelette for two, the best biscuits and gravy in the world, and a big glass of ice cold milk from the Lumberjack Cafรฉ in Ruch, Oregon (which, sadly doesn’t exist anymore).

More realistically, I like the same artisan sandwich and peppermint mocha that Reuben posted (well, not exactly the same one, cuz that would be creepy).

  23. Avocado, bacon and cream cheese omelette, rye toast, fruit. But my husband has to order pancakes, so I can have a few bites. (Sweet and savoury can’t be beat!)

MLD, I too am a great fan of cold pizza! I taught all my children the joy of cold pizza in the morning. All our spouses think we are crazy.

  24. Nice to see omelettes finally show up in the comments. IHOP Denver feeds two.

Breakfast burrito, yes. With green chile.

    Cold pizza works, too.

  25. Hands down best breakfast is at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord in Lancaster County, PA. The place is huge, a complex in and of itself. And the spread is just as huge. And even though the selection quantity is large, they still maintain the quality at the same time. Eggs and omeletes fresh to order, pancakes and waffles with all kinds of fruits and flavors, sausage, bacon, scrapple, all kinds of pastries, home fries, hash browns, biscuits, cereal, etc., etc., etc. I think they even have grits at this yankee restaurant. Man, you eat breakfast there, you don’t need to eat the rest of the day.

  26. At Michael’s #10, I ate at the Frontier restaurant earlier this year during my first and only ever trip to Albuquerque. Quite a cool place. Didn’t have breakfast though as we were there for dinner. If I remember right, I had enchiladas with some green chile stew. The food was good.

  27. Cracker Barrel – Uncle Hershel’s Favorites.

    My, my, my.

  28. I recently started a diet and have lost 17 pounds, so my favorite breakfast is off limits at this time. However, when I am able I like scrambled bratwurst mustard, scrambled eggs and hash browns with salsa or Tapatio, and an icy coca-cola.

And now you know why I needed to lose weight…

  29. Michael, I LOVE Dutch Bros! 4-shot double mocha, or the raspberry mocha, ya buddy!

My fav breakfast is my wife’s…she is the Breakfast Queen. Her garlic-potato cakes are the bomb, so are her homemade blueberry and strawberry pancakes.

Fav restaurant breakfast is Moon’s Kitchen Cafe in downtown Boise, bar none. Their omelettes, biscuits and gravy and pancakes are off the charts.

  30. Chorrizo, egg, cheese and bacon burrito; fries with cheese with avocado sauce; extra large sweet tea!

  31. Oh, and the cheese must be monterey jack!

  32. When it comes to breakfast moms is the place to be.

  33. OK I’m the odd ball here. I never liked traditional breakfast food at all (although bacon on anything tastes good, but I have sworn bacon off).

My favorite breakfast is a big bowl of real oatmeal (not that instant stuff), filled with raisins, dried cranberries, cherries and some ground flax mixed in. Keeps me going later in the day.

Now did someone mention a medium rare steak grilled to perfection? That is good any time of the day.

  34. Bob: “Keeps me going later in the day.” With all that fruit and fiber, I’ll bet it does. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  35. What are the rules? If you have to buy junk food:

Sausage McMuffin – McD’s & White chocolate mocha from SBux

If we are allowed to cook:

My bagel breakfast sandwich is delectable with a nice old fashioned cup of Joe from the Keurig.

  36. If I was going to throw caution to the wind and eat what I think is the most delish it would be three fried eggs, sunny-side up, chicken-fried steak w/ all that sausage-y gravy, cheese grits and a few English muffins w/ butter and raspberry jam.

  37. Big Dill Eggs and Dana Dโ€™s Vanilla Blast! From The Walnut Cafe in Boulder CO.

I like the granola pancakes at Cracker Barrel. I don’t know Cracker Barrel in CO is.

Starbucks Mocha non fat with whip. Sbux Mocha anything. Sbux caramel machiatto ICED.

A mocha and fresh baked chocolate croissant from New Moon Bakery in Nederland CO.

French toast is always super yummy. I like a touch of Vanilla with my french toast.

Oh and my Pop overs with Nutella.

  38. Crowned 1’s #35.
When I am out and eat bfast, the sausage egg and cheese Mcmuffin is the best!

  39. The ultimate breakfast is what I serve once a year at Patrick’s Point state park- scrambled eggs with cheese and salsa, smoked bacon, pan fried toast with both sides buttered, coffee with a Dove dark chocolate square and honey, with a side of Agates. Oj is optional. Enjoyed by an Alder fire while birds sing and the wind whips through the tree tops.

  40. Anne @ 6 “Right there with you, E. As a result I feel better, have more energy at 60 than I did at 50. Know I may not live any longer, but may be able to do for myself longer w/o having to depend on others for my care. Off of statins, no longer pre-diabetic and off other meds too which more than helps cover the cost of all those yummy veggies ”

Good for you Anne. Lord willing if I progress I can come off a few meds. I’m feeling much better since I began 6-7 months ago. The test will be keeping off the weight. But reading through this thread is stumbling me!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  41. Fried potatoes, onions & pork sausage, with eggs over easy on top. Wisconsin style.

  42. Green Monster Energy Drink with a Blueberry muffin, get it twice a week, the combination is delicious

  43. @ 40 But reading through this thread is stumbling me!!!

    Me too ๐Ÿ˜€

  44. Forgot to mention the Lemon-Ricotta Pancakes at Wildflower Bread Company. I pour hot maple syrup on half, and put the warm blueberry compote on the other half. Lord have mercy!

  45. Oh, I think I should have said that the banana bread french toast with cinnamon apple compote and whipped cream. Illy coffee (or an Illy coffee porter if that is your poison) and a big side of bacon. I have this every couple of weeks at work. yeah I work in a great place.

  46. I’m late to the party, but here it is….Michael’s right- Frontier breakfast burrito, smothered in their chile and a warm cinnamon roll served amongst a museum of SW artwork is wonderful. At least you’d die happy there! The coffee, however, lacks substance, which leads me to the next point.

Whiting Brothers French Roast coffee, ground for French Press, with half and half, along with a homemade omelette, onions and bell peppers browned, with a tad of feta cheese and a homemade whole wheat blueberry muffin. Pretty good stuff…
