  3. Merry Christmas, Dusty!
Much love and prayers to you, little sister of mine.

  4. Thanks for the shout out, Michael.
If anyone wants to drop by their in a few hours, I am working on a watercolor pencil drawing of a squirrel. My wife and I have been watching the squirrels in the backyard and it made me want to draw one.

That post on FB by Naghmeh Abedini was inspiring this morning. That woman is strong and faithful!

  5. Merry Christmas everyone here in The Wonderful Phoenix Preacher land! My present to all of you is that I have come to bring my Glad tidings.

  6. I think the biggest thing to fight the ‘war on Christmas’ is to make sure that your church is open on Christmas day.
If your pastor is not opening the church on Christmas morning, tell him he is the biggest ‘warrior’ against Christmas.

pastors – if you are not at work Christmas morning, you can have no say in the so called ‘war on christmas.’

  7. We will be celebrating the Feast of the Nativity in a few weeks (Jan 7) but I wish all you New Calendar folk 🙂 a Merry Christmas and a happy Holy Day. And if your church is open, go!

  8. The dog article was good and brought up a lot of fond memories of pets past.
Also, it brought a lot of sad memories of pets moving on through my life.
It is always sort of sad that pets live such a short time.
Life is a vapor to us, but to them it is even less than that.

Open the Church on Christmas? You mean a pile of sticks on a pile of dirt is the Church? I thought the people were the Church, silly me! called out ones, not called out buildings!

  10. Here’s an article about Orthodox Christmas in January that some might find interesting:

  12. SolRod,
You are just like the CC pastors who just want to sleep in on Christmas morning, instead of gathering with God’s people.

Merry zzzzzzzzz to you tomorrow. 🙂

  13. As a bible believing follower of Christ I think that anything built around the birth of Jesus is a human construct. If it was important for us to know the day God would’ve said so plainly. Jesus was probably born on a major Jewish feast day. Some say that if you could determine the time of John the baptizer’s father’s temple ministry you could deduce when Jesus was born.

However, having said that, I love Christmas and most all the trappings. I love the gifts, the music, the food, the church programs, the movies, the cheer… I wish I could say I love the family gatherings but in my family that’s not possible. I believe Christmas to be more pagan than Christian but I can extract the good from it. My wife says I know how to celebrate. She loves Christmas with me. So merry Christmas to all and to all a good attitude! Ho Ho Ho boy, am I gonna get it!! 😉 😉 😉

  14. Just wanted to let people know, that today, Brian Broderson, Dan Phillips, Frank Turk and Douglas Wilson all gave a #freesaeed tweet.
I myself have issues with a few on that list and others here may have grievances, but credit where credit is due, they gave a voice to Saeed Abedini.
Also had a few people that are unknown on here, but have large twitter followings due to political views do some RT’ing that left my phone bothering me. I would never have considered these people for some reason due to their very radical loud views on the President, but the Lord used them and they were very helpful in getting a little bit of more awareness out.
Praise the Lord that more people are aware today.

  15. Merry Christmas MLD! I just woke up

  16. LOL!
I thought of Xenia when I saw this tweet by Russell Moore.

“Is it just me or is media use of “patriarch” as a descriptor limited to Eastern Orthodox and Duck Dynasty?”
