Redmond is on a roll. Thanks for sharing that.

    “Glory, and praise with honor
be to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!
    He will increase in us
what He has promised us out of grace,
so that we trust fast in Him,
    abandon ourselves completely to Him,
rely on Him within our hearts,
so that our heart, will, and mind
    should depend on him comfortingly;
therefore we sing at this time:
    Amen, we shall succeed,
if we believe from the depths of our hearts.”
Bach Cantata 29 – “We thank Thee, O God, we thank Thee.”

Redmond’s article has me in tears. We have experienced that kind of unexpected grace as well. One time, back in the early 80’s, before the days of overdrafts and credit cards, when we lived on “cash only,” we were broke. My husband had to use the last couple of dollars we had for gas to get to work. There was hardly any food in the house, but we did have a little bag of macaroni, some government (so called) “cheese” that a friend had given me a while back, a little bit of milk and some breakfast cereal, so we certainly we not going to starve. However, my kids knew we couldn’t go to the store and buy groceries. They “knew” that we were struggling. We sat down and prayed together and thanked the Lord for the food we had….for all the blessings we had. The mail came later that day and in the mail box was a check from our mortgage company, giving us back about $200 that we had somehow over-paid over the past couple of years. We had no idea we had over paid anything and were certainly not expecting that check. The Lord used that little gift to encourage me, my husband and our children that He would always take care of us. I have never forgotten that.

I know we “gripe” a lot here, but I’m thankful that today Michael saw fit to have these links to encourage us in God’s faithfulness, the love of the brethren, and the hope we have in Christ.

FYI From the CSN website: Kessler is mentioned

    “About CSN

    “Our Beginning & Vision

CSN (the Christian Satellite Network) began broadcasting Christian radio as a program service to stations and translators licensed to Calvary Chapel of Twin Falls on April 26th, 1995. The founder and guiding force behind CSN is Pastor Mike Kestler. The first satellite-fed translator to begin receiving the network from KAWZ was in Yucca Valley, California. Since that time, CSN has grown to nearly 400 stations and translators across the United States, including Alaska and the Hawaiian islands. The Lord continues to expand CSN through many more applications for stations……..”

    Nonnie,

Your #2 was very inspiring. Perhaps it happened more for those who hear your testimony than it even did for your own realization. Testimonies have more power than most people realize. Sure, many may hear it with no response at all but if there is only one out of the hundred that hear it, and it gives them encouragement, you may surely have accomplished being an instrument of God’s work. Continue to testify, as we all should.

Yes, got the same or similar tip as well. I’ll let you know if I find anything out as well.

Just got another issue: Jon Courson’s attorneys have apparently sent a “Cease and Desist” letter to a local woman and former congregant in their area, according to her. From my first review, there are some major concerns with what she is alleging, as well as a major concern for what Courson is alleging.

  7. Linnea says:

Oh, Nonnie– what a wonderful testimony. It reminds me of George Muller. Thank you for the encouragement that God is always in control, no matter the circumstances.

  8. Jack Schaap got 12 years, which is 2 more years than the prosecution recommended.

  9. Alex says:

Captain said, “Jack Schaap got 12 years, which is 2 more years than the prosecution recommended.”

    Good!

  10. Alex
Where can I read the article on Courson?

  11. mrtundraman says:

Kestler? Reminds me of the chorus of a Steve Miller song…

…Go on take the money and run…

    Don’t know that’s what’s happened – just making a guess based on history…

He could have cashed out and given all the money to the poor. LOL.

  12. Mark says:

Michael- I hope you will moderate any further gossip Alex intends to post on Jon Courson. I wouldv’e hoped his initial post would’ve been filtered. We don’t need another witch hunt based on rumor and innuendo.

  13. Summer says:

Mark, Leave Alex alone. It seems no one else will help the weak in these kinds of circumstances. Bark on, Alex!

  14. Winter says:

Summer…you’re assuming things about, “the weak in these kinds of circumstances.” #14
Alex should follow Michael’s good example of not speaking about things based on ‘tips’. Rather Alex should wait until he’s gathered info then release a story, as Michael has done. Otherwise this site becomes a gossip column based on “things people have heard”, w/ no real proof to back them. This is how people are torn down and the body of Christ weakened.

  15. summer says:

According to Idaho Repository, Michael Kestler had divorced. That happened in January 2014.
