My Father, if Thy mercy had bounds, where would be my refuge from just wrath? But thy love in Christ is without measure. Thus, I present myself to Thee with sins of commission and omission, against Thee, my Father, against Thee, adorable redeemer, against Thee and Thy strivings, O Holy Spirit, against the dictates of my conscience, against the precepts of Thy Word, against my neighbours and myself. Enter not into judgment with me, for I plead no righteousness of my own, and have no cloak for iniquity. Pardon my day dark with evil.

This night I renew my penitence. Every morning I vow to love Thee more fervently, to serve Thee more sincerely, to be more devoted in my life, to be wholly Thine; Yet I soon stumble, backslide, and have to confess my weakness, misery and sin. But I bless Thee that the finished work of Jesus needs no addition from my doings, that His oblation is sufficient satisfaction for my sins.

If future days be mine, help me to amend my life, to hate and abhor evil, to flee the sins I confess. Make me more resolute, more watchful, more prayerful. Let no evil fruit spring from evil seeds my hands have sown; Let no neighbour be hardened in vanity and folly by my want of circumspection. If this day I have been ashamed of Christ and His Word, or have shown unkindness, malice, envy, lack of love, unadvised speech, hasty temper, let it be no stumbling block to others, or dishonour to Thy name. O help me to set an upright example that will ever rebuke vice, allure to goodness, and evidence that lovely are the ways of Christ.

  2. We live in AMAZING times!!!
Right now, I’m chatting on FB with a friend from Sacramento and we’re both watching a live stream of a church service where 3 of our friends (2 americans and 1 ukrainian) are at this very moment!!
The guy preaching grew up with someone that goes to Dread’s church and who is basically my neighbor and definately my friend. Nice guy that I met when I was in Kiev and before I met her.

VERY Small world….and I LOVE technology that allows us to have “shared experiences” 1/2 way across the planet!

    Incredible!!

  3. London, that is so cool.

PP family…please pray for me an my family this week.

The Fresno Bee released an article today about the child abuse part of our story. It stirs up a variety of emotions in us. Please pray for God’s peace, His direction and His protection over us….and His wisdom….and most importantly, His Will.

Today MrFixit and I will be visiting with NANCY (and the grands and Carl!) How fun.
We’re having a mini-Efest. God is so kind.

  23. Spurgeon on prayer:

Prayers are noticed in heaven. Oh! I know what is the case with many of you. You think, “If I turn to God, if I seek him, surely I am so inconsiderable a being, so guilty and vile, that it cannot be imagined he would take any notice of me.” My friends, harbor no such heathenish ideas. Our God is no god who sits in one perpetual dream; nor doth he clothe himself in such thick darkness that he cannot see; he is not like Baal who heareth not. True, he may not regard battles; he cares not for the pomp and pageantry of kings; he listens not to the swell of martial music; he regards not the triumph and the pride of man; but wherever there is a heart big with sorrow, wherever there is an eye suffused with tears, wherever there is a lip quivering with agony, wherever there is a deep groan, or a penitential sigh, the ear of Jehovah is wide open; he marks it down in the registry of his memory; he puts our prayers, like rose leaves, between the pages of his book of remembrance, and when the volume is opened at last there shall be a precious fragrance springing up therefrom. Oh! Poor sinner, of the blackest and vilest character, thy prayers are heard, and even now God hath said of thee, “Behold, he prayeth.” Where was it—in a barn? Where was it—in the closet? Was it at thy bedside this morning, or in this hall? Art thou now glancing thine eye to heaven? Speak, poor heart; did I hear thy lips just now mutter out, “God have mercy upon me, a sinner?” I tell thee, sinner, there is one thing which doth outstrip the telegraph. You know we can now send a message and receive an answer in a few moments; but I read of something in the Bible more swift than the electric fluid. “Before they call I will answer, and while they are speaking I will hear.” So, then, poor sinner, thou art noticed; yea, thou art heard by him that sitteth on the throne.

May those that fail to realize that God’s attention rests on them come to know it today.
    He hears us
    He knows
    He cares
    Amen.

  24. prayer? if you’re redeemed (“saint”) your prayers count – period.

Rev 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four [and] twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
Rev 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer [it] with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
Rev 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, [which came] with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.

doesn’t say “some prayers of some of the saints” – even if we don’t “see” results, it seems every affirmation of faith in a petition the God is treasured and saved for a purpose, wouldn’t you say?
(apologies to the theologians who pass by here and ‘know’ when those prayers reach God 😆 )
    just sayin – again

  25. Your comment is awaiting moderation. oops, let me rephrase that 😉

prayer? if you’re redeemed (“saint”) your prayers count – period.

from the book of Revelation: And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four [and] twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
again: And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer [it] with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
and again: And the smoke of the incense, [which came] with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.

  30. Pastor T, ‘Step out of the Boat’ is a great blog – May God protect it and prosper it

  31. Em,

Thanks. My wife gave me a hard time yesterday because I took to much time in posting something else. 🙂

Feel free to comment while you’re there….talking to oneself is considered a bit sketchy. 😀

  32. Pastor T, using the computer to accomplish a task puts one in a time warp – understood only by those who go there – it’s good that you have someone to ‘rescue’ you 🙂

  33. Luke 5
29Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. 30But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?”

31Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

    Thank You, Jesus.
Thank You for coming for me
    Sinner I was
    Sinner I am
    By grace alone saved
    Amen.

    Ps 147:1-11
    Praise the LORD!
How good it is to sing praises to our God!
    How delightful and how right!
The LORD is rebuilding Jerusalem and bringing the exiles back to Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their wounds.
He counts the stars and calls them all by name.
How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!
The LORD supports the humble, but he brings the wicked down into the dust.
Sing out your thanks to the LORD; sing praises to our God, accompanied by harps.
He covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, and makes the green grass grow in mountain pastures.
He feeds the wild animals, and the young ravens cry to him for food.
The strength of a horse does not impress him; how puny in his sight is the strength of a man.
Rather, the LORD’s delight is in those who honor him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.

  35. Nomans, praise Him indeed!
Honor him, hope in His love, delight the Lord… i can do that

  36. A friend of our son was just taken to the hospital. He is addicted to Oxycontin and has been overdose out of it for some time. He was almost taken to the ER last night, got a DUI today and then overdosed. A friend of his died in his home last year from an Oxycontin overdose. Would you please pray for Kevin?

  37. “has been overdose out of it for some time”

should read he has been hooked on this for some time.

  38. Please pray for Trey’s grandma…she’s in a tough spot in life and was admitted to the hospital this morning with possible pneumonia.

Pray for Trey and his mom as well…
