Babylons Dread has made a stand on this Facebook page.

Calling on Worship Leader to cancel the upcoming conference in Albuquerque because of the slander of a brothers good name due to the actions of the host.

I just added my name…you can too.

No Responses to “Cancel the ABQ Conference”

  1. Just Do it

    Alpha Dread

  2. Oi

  3. Michael,

Let’s list the speakers at Albuquerque … find their email and write to them asking them to remove themselves from the conference as a matter of conscience. If these ODMs are allowed to smear people and force them from meetings like this … IT WILL INCREASE….

Let’s be respectful, and humbly ask them to hear our plea.

  4. I’m with you….I just emailed Chuck Fromm on Facebook…let me get Trey settled and I’ll get going.

  5. “If these ODMs are allowed to smear people and force them from meetings like this … IT WILL INCREASE….”

    Exactly….they’ve now tasted blood.

  6. Hold on a minute…. I think a lot of money, time, and planning went into this conference. It’s not the planner’s fault that Skip dis-invited one of their speakers. It’s not their fault, in fact, they are sort of victims here. Why ruin their conference?

  7. Xenia … I am not blaming them I am asking them to make a moral statement. Sometimes doing the right thing costs some money… at very least they should seek another venue…

  8. There still has been no official statement from CoA about why Mr. Sweet was “disinvited”??

  9. I agree with pastor Hawkins.
We call upon the speakers and attendees to cancel to protest Sweet’s shameful treatment by Moriel, Calvary Chapel, and all who have assailed Sweet’s character and commitment to Jesus.

  10. My father always told me to refuse to cower to bullies. He used to say pick up a stick and put your back to a wall and tell them to come get you. I was always too afraid in those days…

  11. Israel Houghton and Chuck Fromm can be sent messages through Facebook

  12. Thanks Phil

  13. I’ve got my hands full tonight…I’ll be getting contact info for the sponsors tomorrow morning.

Looks like the bulk of the money is coming from Lifeway…thats Thom Ranier and Ed Stetzer.

  14. I cant get my post to go under the heading Duh sorry but will try to post later.

  15. no dog in this fight… went to a maranatha music/ worship leader mag worship leader conference some years ago….. boring, irrelevent, and showy……. I could care less

  16. Come now cent… you do not care if a man is skewered called every name imaginable and pushed out of a public forum? You do not care? We all choose… you just did…

  17. i suspect that the venue involved has a signed contract and a big dollar penalty for cancellation…
will continue to pray requesting of our Lord for God the Holy Spirit to move

  18. I was able to finally get it posted, I hope it helps.

  19. Then let’s see the contract… I doubt they had the authority to censor the speakers.

  20. “Then let’s see the contract…”

I know this is pathetic and well basically stupid on my part but I listened to a sermon about let your yes be yes and your no be no. I totally understand this has nothing to do in the modern church, where one must be a lawyer to minister, no room for the rest. I even understand that. I will admit to my shame I use to live in a world where brothers and sisters made agreements on a hand shake and a word. Of course this is pathetic, stupid and even Satanic, the real follower of the Prince of Peace requires a form filled out in triplicate and notarized. I will agree I swim near the very shallow end of the faith pool, but in my day I took people at their word. That was a sin and I have repented of it. Now I want proof, and trust no one more then I can through them or get even with them.

As totally pathetic and stupid as it may be I would like to go back the handshake days. That cant happen so we are in the modern need a lawyer just to talk to someone day. That is one reason I refuse to build real world ties with others in the church. I fear that I may show fear, need or show grief or other such vile sin and would be retaliated against. I am afraid of Christians actually totally terrified, which is why I avoid them. Because I cant be perfect, which is the basic minimum I stay away.

  21. Here are Chuck Smith Jr.’s thoughts on Len Sweet….

  22. Praying for you Dread.

I am hopeful many will take a stand against the wrong that’s been done and is being done to Len Sweet, a fellow Believer.

I don’t have any real influence, but I will pray and voice my support on here and email whomever I can that is connected to the conference.

  23. praying

  24. dread,
I understood that when I hit enter. this is an irrelevent event IMO. and I also realize there will be day that “they” may very well come for me. All I need to do if have a differing view, participate on the wrong blog, or have the wrong friends and associates that I endorse or have fellowship with.

The mean-spirited, unChristlike behavior, coupled with a blindness that produces a sense of superior understanding and expression (that they call anointing) is in itself pushing me out of the fundamental, conservative camp. I’m tired of people who barely made it through high school spending and hour and a half on the internet and are now self proclaimed experts on a given subject.

basically, dread, I’m tired of playing… and I want so badly to say to hell with ’em all, but then, I get this tap on the shoulder from the Holy Spirit that reminds me this is the Body that Jesus died and gave Himself for and is content to let the tares continue to grow with the wheat. And I realize you are smart enough to recognize I am talking about what God has said to me specifically, not necessarily anyone else.

  25. Centy

You spoke both well and clear.

  26. Thanks centy

I have been on the sidelines for a while so … I am energized to push back… bless you

  27. get ’em, dread!!
