And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord , have not forsaken those who seek you.” (Psalms 9:9-10) Steve Wright says: March 31, 2017 at 4:28 pm If there is a Christian who embodies the whole “let’s have a conversation” mindset with the world today and it’s changing norms it would be Keller. Yet, look at how quickly Princeton caved to the homosexual activists. The prize was for excellence in reformed theology and public witness. His theology didn’t change so I guess his witness is unacceptable. At some point we will grasp what Jesus meant by the world hating those who stand on the truth, no matter the degree of love offered. dusty says: March 31, 2017 at 4:35 pm Hope everyone has a great weekend Jean says: March 31, 2017 at 5:16 pm Regarding Keller and Princeton, In Luke Jesus says: “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” Most American Christians totally ignore these verses. But Jesus isn’t talking to only the gays and women pastors; He’s talking to every Christian. This is the “way” of every Christian. It’s not optional under some Lordship theology heresy. But since many sins are done in private or are condoned by the larger culture, most Christians ignore these verses. But God doesn’t! When Keller gets an invitation to Princeton, he’s a walking Law sign to the gays and women pastors. They look at Keller and all they see is their sin; it convicts them. He doesn’t have to utter a word about gays and women pastors, but the sight of him and his name are enough to remind the gays and women pastors of what God’s Word says. So, they hate Keller. But actually, it is Christ they hate. Because Keller didn’t come up with the Law. It’s God’s Law. But, they take it out on Keller. That is the way of the cross. It’s nothing special. It’s the path of all the saints, who hate their own sin and are hated for following the crucified Christ. I pray that Keller is not injured or harmed by rabble who are known to disrupt events like the one he is invited to address. I would not be surprised if rabble attempt to suppress Keller’s lecture by all means, including violence. Martin Luther's Disciple says: March 31, 2017 at 5:57 pm One of my favorite guys Pastor Jonathan Fisk was invited to Washington University (a Catholic school) by the Lutheran Student club to give a talk on Traditional Marriage – the Democrats had a cow in protest and tried to shut down the talk. Here is the article; http://dailycaller.com/2017/02/21/pastors-marriage-lecture-prompts-protest-from-college-democrats/ I will look for the youtube of the talk. Martin Luther's Disciple says: March 31, 2017 at 6:05 pm I didn’t understand what Rod Dreher, author, The Benedict Option was getting at when articles about him was showing up here. But I have now listened to him twice today on Issues etc. I think he is on to something. http://issuesetc.org/2017/03/30/0903-a-christian-counterculture-in-a-post-christian-age-rod-dreher-33117/ Jean says: March 31, 2017 at 6:08 pm MLD, what is your source for Washington University? My understanding is that it is not a Catholic school. Martin Luther's Disciple says: March 31, 2017 at 6:14 pm Perhaps I am wrong, I thought it was. JTK says: April 1, 2017 at 12:06 pm Howdy, guys! Day 358 of being banned from the local college. I’d appreciate your prayers as authorities are taking up a review of the INSANE things that have happened in our case… JTK aka Captain Kirk. I read often but have been busy reading, praying…and just watched Martin Scorcese’: “Silence.” Anyone else see this? dusty says: April 1, 2017 at 5:19 pm JTK, i will be praying for you. em ... again says: April 2, 2017 at 5:59 pm with dusty’s prayer for JTK… sanity seems to be rare on any college campus today… it’s a little scary – probably most so for those competent scholars trying to do their job instructing… Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
